Radar: questions and answers

What is Radar?

Radar spots a new video that is taking off in its first hours, before it becomes obvious. Statly follows each new video from the accounts you watch closely for up to 48 hours and compares it with what that account’s videos usually have at the same age. It works on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and X.

How early does Radar find a video?

Statly checks the accounts you watch closely every 2 hours, so a new video is found about 1 hour after posting, on average. Each new video is then checked every 2 hours for up to 48 hours.

How does Radar decide a video is taking off?

Radar compares each new video with the same account’s own videos at the same age: a video 1.5 times ahead or more is taking off. While Radar is still learning a new account, a video is taking off once it passes that account’s typical video.

Can Radar alert me?

Yes. Radar can post to Telegram, Slack or Discord when a watched account’s new video takes off. You choose how far ahead: 2, 3 or 5 times its own videos at the same age. Alerts work in the free preview too.

Which accounts does Radar watch?

Statly fills about a third of your Radar slots with accounts it picks from the ones you track (Starter 3, Scale 10, Agency 26), choosing ones that post daily and often break out. The rest are yours to choose; in the free preview, Statly fills all 5. You can remove any of them at any time; one you remove is never picked again. Radar works best on accounts that post a few times a day.

How many accounts can Radar watch?

Radar watches 10 accounts at once on Starter, 30 on Scale, 80 on Agency and a custom number on Enterprise. Their new videos are checked every 2 hours for up to 48 hours. The free preview includes Radar on 5 accounts, alerts included.

What does Radar show for each video?

For each new video, Radar shows when it was posted and how soon it was spotted, its views, how far ahead it is of its account’s usual, its momentum over the last 2 hours and its engagement against the account’s usual. Open a video to see its likes, comments, shares and saves, and its views next to the account’s typical video, with a one-sentence explanation.

What does “Learning” mean next to an account?

It shows how far Radar is in learning that account’s own videos. While an account is learning, Radar compares a new video with the account’s typical video, for example “8.9× a typical video”. Once it has learned the account, it compares the video with that account’s videos at the same age, for example “3.9× vs its videos at 15 h”.

Can I sort and filter Radar?

Yes. Sort by most ahead, speeding up (gaining views faster than 2 hours ago), most engaging or most views. Filter to show only videos taking off or every new video, by platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or X), and from all accounts or learned accounts only.
