CPM

Not calculated

cost ÷ impressions × 1,000

How CPM works

CPM means cost per mille, or cost per 1,000 impressions. It lets you compare what different ads, sponsored posts or placements cost for the same amount of exposure.

Worked example

$500 ÷ 100,000 impressions × 1,000 = $5.00 CPM.

Impressions are counted differently on each platform, so compare CPMs only between similar placements. This tool does not tell you whether a CPM is good or bad.

What is CPM?

CPM stands for cost per mille, which means the cost per 1,000 impressions. It is a common way to compare the price of ads or sponsored posts.

How do I calculate CPM?

Divide the total cost by the number of impressions and multiply by 1,000. For example, $500 for 100,000 impressions is a CPM of $5.00.

What is a good CPM?

It depends on the platform, audience, country, format and season, so there is no single good number. Compare CPMs for similar campaigns and audiences.

Is CPM the same as cost per view?

No. CPM prices 1,000 impressions, while cost per view prices each view. Impressions and views are counted differently on each platform.

Does this calculator connect to my accounts?

No. It runs in your browser and uses only the numbers you type. Nothing is sent anywhere.
